Russia Today TV visits AgroPlast’s Eco-Friendly Company in Rwanda

Russia Today TV visited AgroPlast Ltd in Rwanda, to learn more about the company’s impressive efforts in transforming plastic waste into valuable, eco-friendly products.

The visit was hosted by Mr. Leon Nduwayezu, the company’s Managing Director, who provided a comprehensive tour of AgroPlast’s innovative production processes.

Founded in 2015 by Nduwayezu, AgroPlast has steadfastly committed to environmental protection through plastic recycling, turning discarded plastics—often considered worthless—into raw materials that serve various sectors of society.

During the visit, the team observed a diverse range of products, including durable trash bags used in hospitals, restaurants, and households; greenhouse sheeting and nursery tubing that support sustainable agriculture; and energy-efficient solar pellet cookstoves, which are widely distributed in refugee camps and local communities.

These products exemplify AgroPlast’s mission to promote sustainability, create jobs, and bolster Rwanda’s circular economy.

In an engaging interview, Mr. Nduwayezu highlighted the company’s vision for the future.

AgroPlast is planning to expand its product line to include plastic pipes for electrical installations, pavers, and plastic bricks—innovations that will further enhance sustainable construction and infrastructure development across Rwanda.

This visit underscores AgroPlast’s role as a leader in environmental innovation and its contribution to Rwanda’s sustainable development goals, demonstrating how waste can be transformed into valuable resources that support both local communities and the planet.
